Do not assume a smocked dress is pure cotton or uses a particular button material. For example, Feltman Brothers lists its Collared Smocked Dress (17433) as 65% polyester and 35% cotton, with machine-washable care. That is one specified garment, not a specification for the whole range. We found no source for the previous claims about 200 hours of handwork, fabric weight or mother-of-pearl buttons, so those claims have been removed.
